The third Ashtabandana Kumbabhishekam was performed in 1986. A Raja gopuram was constructed and the fourth Jeenordharana Ashtabandana Kumbabhishekam and Raja Gopuram Kumbhabishekam were performed in 1992 by Their Holinesses Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal and Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal.

The fifth Kumbabhishekam was performed in 2004 by His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.

Right from its inception, the temple has been very closely associated with Sri Kanchi Mutt and the Vaideeha Pooja system is followed as per the guidelines and instructions of the seers of this Great Mutt.

The Jayanthi celebrations of Their Holiness are performed regularly and prasadams offered to Their Holinesses at Kanchi. Special homas, Annadhanam, lectures form part of these celebrations every year.

Pradosham in this temple draws a large number of devotees every fortnight. More than 3000 devotees throng Sri Rathnagiriswarar Temple on Pradosham days. Similarly, Maha Sivarathri is yet another function which draws very large crowd throughout the day. All important festivals are performed in a grand manner strictly as per Vedic injunctions. The special feature of the rituals in this temple is that every abhishekam, aradhanas are performed amidst Vedic chanting by a large number of grahasthas trained in Vedic chanting.
