Lanhydrock woods visit in a wheelchair with my assistance dog

Circular route? yes

Disabled toilets? Beside the bike hire and also at the Stable yard Tearooms near the house

Cafe or drink food facility? There is a lovely cafe at behind the car park. In winter has a fireplace and also heated flooring :) which is a dream. Also the stableyard cafe at the bottom near the house but this is only seasonal


Tramper Hire? YES there is one at the moment available. Please note that there is also a transit vehicle which take s you down to the house where you can also pick up a scooter to take you around the gardens Please note: the tramper is available from the cycle hire next to the toilets behind the car park. You will need to email or phone them to reserve it. You can have the morning or afternoon session. Also please be mindful that Wednesday and Thursday the tramper hire is closed and you may not get a message back straight away confirming your booking ect.

Terrain: tarmac, wooded area. If you are in the woods please note it can in some places get very muddy if we have had a lot of rain. Also some tree roots and gradients.

Shelter? There are not very many places to take shelter especially if the leaves have fallen!!
please remember to dress for the weather. Also a suggestion if you are bringing a relative please bring a blanket or cushion as it can get very cold just sitting there and also the terrain is a bit bumpy in places. Top Tip

Experience:


I just absolutely love this place, if you choose to go the house or the woods. I prefer to go to the woods as sometimes you just need to get away from people and you wont meet that many in the woods. Plenty of dog walks around though. The tramper hire is just brilliant if you can get one. Well worth the experience. There are several routes you can take and they are different lengths. Depends how fit the person is with you I would say ha ha. Ideal for carrying the picnics and there is such a beautiful bench near the river you can have that special moment. Sometimes the river can be quiet high and flows fast so please keep an eye on your dogs if you are bring one. Also this is one of those places where you can let a dog of lead. Responsible owners of course
Please also note that some of the routes do have a gate and they are not that easy to negotiate. I am working closely with Llanhydroch to help solve the problem so hopefully we will see some positive inclusive changes too and an extra tramper.
It can get quiet cold in the woods and there is no phone signal in parts of them too. It is a lovely magical place and the staff are very helpful lovely and friendly.
Sometimes near the Respryn car park there is a coffee wagon parked but again this is seasonal.
