Symptoms

Infections, such as gum, skin, and vaginal infections
Causes
Diabetes can be caused by a number of factors, including autoimmune destruction of the pancreas's insulin-producing cells.
Types
There are three main types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. Type 1 is caused by a lack of insulin production, while type 2 is caused by insulin resistance.
Complications
Diabetes can lead to long-term complications, such as damage to the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart. It can also increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and chronic kidney disease.
