China banned Bitcoin mining in its country, and yet the Bitcoin network did not go down for even a millisecond. Its hash rate has recently recovered to pre-ban levels.

2021 was the year that Bitcoin really entered the mainstream consciousness. Bitcoin is now here to stay, and will continue to take over the world and increase in purchasing power over the coming years.
