Nearly every person who is overweight and been to the doctor has had their weight blamed for some other ailment. Go to the doctor for a cold? "You should probably lose some weight." Sprained your knee? "You should probably lose some weight." there are so many other reasons that could be the cause of the problem but when someone is over weight why is this the automatic resolution? Yes, our weight may play a role in why we are seeing a doctor but it is not the ONLY way to fix our ailment. Just because you are a doctor does NOT make it ok for you to shame someone for their weight/appearance. In this video I share an in depth story about a time where I was shamed by a doctor for gaining weight. This was not okay and I called her out on it and she tried to blame me for how I handled the situation. I also share a reaction to a TikTok Video that a doctor posted that talks about some ways to talk with your doctor if you are overweight and nervous about how to handle it at an appointment. The tips that he shares were very helpful to me and I felt the need to share with all of you as well.
