Now PhD is not possible without UGC NET Qualification. As per the latest guidelines by JNU Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi Dated 26/04/2024
ugc net exam will be taken as the final criteria for any type of PhD Admissions.
UGC announced new guidelines that NET will be qualified In 3 categories. Category 1 Will add the students who have qualified for JRF. category 2 will add students who have qualified for assistant professor and phd and category 3 will add only those who havwe qualified UGC NET But with low marks which will be eligible for only PhD.
