BMW has released the video footage of its first self-driving motorbike.

The motorcycle is an autonomous version of its R1200GS motorcycle. It is sleek, fast, powerful and needs no one to ride it.

The bike not only rides on its own, but it can also come to a complete stop on its own.

BMW has said however that it will not be developed for commercial sale but for research only.

BMW says the prototype will be used to help scientists develop driver assistance tools.

The company also said its intelligent safety technology will be further developed and installed on new motorcycles.

Also Yamaha’s new innovation, the MOTOROiD made an international debut earlier in the week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

MOTOROiD is a computer vision and face recognition system which allows the user to summon the bike with the wave of a hand. It operates at low speeds with a lithium-ion battery, 3D-printed tires, and a haptic HMI device that cradles the rider’s waist.
