Maybe once a year we get a touring band with an opener, and we love experiencing the unknown. Often, the opener is a pleasant surprise, and Jake Xerxes Fussell opening for Joan Shelley certainly followed that trend. With a huge voice, great chicken pickin’, and songs in the tone of a lonesome cowboy, we loved every second of it!
