Mr. Money Well Spent, Blakk Steel is a legend of Pittsburgh Hip-Hop. He was born and raised in the Hill District, narrowly avoiding a life of crime when his gangster friend handed him a technics 1200 turntable instead of a bag to hold. A highly respected originator of the hip hop sound of Pittsburgh on the air for decades combined at WPTS and WAMO he went on to found the internationally recognized ‘Underground Hip Hop Video Magazine’ which was nominated for billboard awards. As a founding member of Union, the most important DJ Crew in the city, he is now working to train the next generation of talent.
