EAS Scenario: The World of Flashpoint - The July Insurrection

Please read before watching. Also, don't wear headphones while watching this, or if you are... don't leave the volume too high.

SYNOPSIS: As tensions rise in the rest of the world as Russia tries to regain her lost glory she failed to gain in the Estonian-Russian War, and China rapidly reaches the status of a global superpower, the United States, wracked by a second global depression, struggles to regain her footing.

While martial law came to an end two years prior, the United States still remains domestically unstable. This instability is further worsened by an extremely polarized and radicalized American political scene as the social democratic and progressive reforms passed under former president Serenity Llewellyn and current president Sean Wells convince many on the right-wing that their way of life is at risk coming to an end, and that they have to do something, with some in the Deep South even calling for outright secession.

But when the Utilities Nationalization Act of 2026 comes up for a vote in the Senate, and it passes, one man by the name of Governor Hall, the Governor of Alabama, opts to turn the verbal conflict into an actual one, and after gaining support from members of the GOP in his own state, declares secession and starts an insurrection that threatens to turn into a Second American Civil War.

The fourth of eight mini-scenarios and faux news broadcasts meant to explain what happened in between the six year gap between Etruria and Flashpoint, The July Insurrection explores a United States, after Ira, the twin nuclear attacks in Durham and Asheville, and an economy that is still being hit by all sides, on the brink of a Second Civil War.
