The optical microscope, also known as a light microscope, is a type of microscope that commonly uses visible light and a system of lenses to generate magnified images of small objects.

In this tutorial/lecture, we will look at the principles of light microscopy, essentially learn how a light microscope works. We cover some topics important for classes such as Chemistry (High School and College Levels), Biology, etc.
