In this microphone shootout we compare 4 large diaphragm condenser microphones from € 198 to € 1.500. As one of our contestants is the Slate ML1 which can emulate other much more expensive microphones, we decided to spice up this comparison by adding 2 microphone modelling plug ins: Antares Mic Mod and IK Multimedia Mic Room. How does the AKG C414 XLS emulating a Sony C800G sound compared to the Slate ML1 doing the same? Let's find out.
