The City of Lewiston, Lewiston Police Department, community partners and stakeholders held a press conference on Thu., Aug. 29 at 12:30 PM at Lewiston City Hall, City Council Chambers, 27 Pine St, Lewiston, to discuss the recent uptick in violence in the community and to announce plans for immediate action and future community engagement to reduce the incidences of violence in the community. The plan includes increased law enforcement presence, enhanced coordination with state and federal law enforcement agencies, innovative approaches to community engagement, and a call to action to the state legislature and the judicial system.
