Aarova Rally Oudenaarde 2020 - SS4: De Bruwaan 2 - all cars (hot moments; canceled after 36 cars)

Описание к видео Aarova Rally Oudenaarde 2020 - SS4: De Bruwaan 2 - all cars (hot moments; canceled after 36 cars)

0-cars: 1:23 | Breen (WRC) 2:52 | first competitor BRC: 3:16 | Criterium completely canceled | See below for results and some timestamps

The second pass on SS De Bruwaan. It stopped raining, causing the roads to dry and competitors run faster, making it very dangerous. The stage got cancelled after the crashes of Wim Muilwijk (BMW E46 M3) and Manuel Merlevede (Peugeot 208 R2) because they blocked the road or were in dangerous places in case another competitor would get off the road. Earlier, Meiron Evans (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) also went off on the same place as Merlevede. Chris Vandamme, the other BMW E46 M3, also went off but could still go to the finish after the stage was canceled. See the car at the end of the video. His rear right suspension was broken causing the car to look crooked while approaching (but I started filming late so that's unfortunately not in the video).

Stage length: 8.71 km

M-Cup: only Syx completed the stage, other competitors got a nominal time of 6:59.6 (+26.0). Chris Vandamme also started but crashed, after the cancellation he drove slowly to the finish so he's registered at +14:13.9 and retires the next stage. (see also the introduction text)

However there was enough time between the stages, the stage also was completely canceled for the criterium drivers.

Some timestamps to special events:
04:04 The right side of the VW Polo from Verschueren is damaged in the previous stage. He changed his flat tyre at the front right and could fortunately still start here. There was only service after this stage, where they fixed the body.
05:12 De Cecco carries a barrier tape with his spoiler
08:29: Maxime Potty (21 - Škoda Fabia R5): hot moment while braking after the fast section, but keeps control of the car
12:01 Jason Mitchell (78 - Ford Fiesta R5): hot moment on the part before entering the cobblestones, due to aquaplaning. He lets cut off the engine and loses some time but nothing bad happened.
13:14 Jimmy D'Hondt (35 - Ford Fiesta R5): enters the cobblestones a little too fast making him slide wide, but he gets through without problems.

This week I'll also post a 3rd and a video from the other 2 stages on this place. Enjoy the videos!
