By comparison, the Golden Bears held San Diego State to 276 total yards. With running back Jaydn Ott missing the game, Jaivian Thomas got a majority of the carries for Cal and he ran for 169 yards on 17 carries. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was 21-29 for 198 yards and two touchdowns, but another rush touchdown.
