Since the Russian invasion to Ukraine, a war of economic sanctions and countermeasures were applied between western nations (United States, United Kingdom and Europe) and Russia.
As the war stagnates but the economic hardship increases it becomes more evident day by day the dispute from the Russia's gold against the worlds reserve currency (The American dollar) is playing an important role not only because of the war but on reshaping the economic system.
Credit Suisse through the statement of Zoltan Pozsar that has previously served at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York published an article stating that we were witnessing the birth of new monetary order as he called bretton woods 3. That new monetary system would have a currency backed by commodities including gold, mostly used by the countries from the group denominated BRICS formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and south Africa
This sanction feels like a currency war, war on gold and stopping a possible Russian Gold standards.
Russia is colluding with a number of other countries to exclude the dollar, the euro and the pound from the system of international settlements. In fact, Russia recently proposed a new international standard for trading in precious metals: the Moscow World Standard (MWS) which will become an alternative to the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) which systematically manipulates precious metals markets to depress prices.
