In this video I fly my DJI TELLO drone around an a business center in Oakdale MN. I purchased the Boost Combo DJI TELLO drone package which includes the drone, backup propellers, 3x flight batteries, 1x 3-port charging dock for the flight batteries, propeller guards, 1x micro USB cable (0.3m) & 1x instruction manual at BestBuy for $149.99 USD before taxes. The basic drone starter kit which includes only 1 battery & a basic charger retails for $99.99 USD.
Each flight battery provides the user with a manufacturer claimed 13 minutes of flight time! This is not bad for the price.
If I really wanted to produce as much drone videos as possible the Boost pack & its' 3x batteries would set me up for 39 minutes of flight time and potentially then as much as 39 minutes of drone video recordings!
As for my review of the flight controls in the TELLO app - which is how the user controls the drone - I am pleasantly surprised at the touch controls on my lousy cheap obsolete phone & tablet! I can barely get these devices to perform simple tasks without exhibiting frustrating lag! However in the TELLO app I experience nothing of the sort and the control delay is nowhere near as bad as I'd expected. I can't wait to see how it performs once I get an iPhone 13 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA...
As for the video quality: I'm also impressed, the drone itself is very small and convenient to travel with, it flys stable enough to compliment the footage being recorded with the exception of all tilt motions severely upsetting the stability of the video.. it simply outguns the frame rate by a significant margin. 🤷🏻‍♂️
overall I give this thing an 8.8/10 with all areas considered as fairly as I am capable of being.
This drone kicks ass for the price!
