The Hjulstrom diagram graphically illustrates the flow speeds that transport and deposit different grain sizes (at a water depth of 1 m). In this video, I describe how to read the relationships. Other videos discuss how to use the diagram to understand what happens when flow speeds change through time, and how to interpret what happens for mud-sized grains.
