The Future of Prelicensing Education Webinar

Описание к видео The Future of Prelicensing Education Webinar

This webinar originally aired on April 27, 2022

Insurance prelicensing education is defined as an instructional program required by some states to be successfully completed by an applicant before sitting for the state examination. Even though all states require licensing applicants to pass a state exam, only half of the states/jurisdictions currently have a prelicensing education requirement. Even though prelicensing may not be required, exam preparation courses are highly recommended in those states.

During this free PUBLIC webinar hosted by the SILA Education & Training Committee Chairs, we spoke to regulators from various states to discuss the future of prelicensing education requirements. We also spoke with regulators from states that have a requirement, states that no longer have a requirement, states that are considering changing their requirements, and states that have different requirements for adjusters and producers.

This was a lively discussion about the reasons for keeping or changing the requirements and what, if any, effects resulted from those changes.
