Digipicks EXPLAINED: Easy guide how to open locks in Starfield

In this video I'm going to give you a super easy to understand guide on how to open any safe or locked container in Starfield by using digipicks.

First of all, you're going to need to find some digipicks. These are the Starfield version of the bobby pins from the Fallout series and can be found basically anywhere, like lying around or on people's personal belongings.

Once you've found some and you stumble across something that you need to open; you'll be presented with some weird circular shapes in the middle of your screen. The difficulty, aka the level of security of the locked item, will be in the top right corner, the number of digipicks you have right below that, and on the bottom row, 4 different shapes or keys with bars. You need to place each key to fill in all the gaps from the rings, starting from the outside and working up to the inside so you can crack open the locked item, but there are some of these keys that can fit in multiple gaps. If you try to do this by trial and error, you can undo as many mistakes as you have digipins left, so be very careful.
My recommendation is to try to get it right in the first place, and to do this we're going to start solving the puzzle backward, working from the inside and finishing with the outside. This will allow you to avoid unwelcome surprises and using keys where they don't belong. Cycle through your keys and start trying to find the correct alignment with the gaps. When you find one that fits, remember which gaps are covered and focus on finding a new key that will fit the remaining ones. Once you have one circle done, repeat the process to fill the gaps from the last ring. To be 100% sure that everything is in place, cycle between the keys and verify that all the gaps are covered.
When you have the right answer it is just a matter of placing each key, and the lock will open for you.
