Solo Female Spring Car Camping | Six Mile Lake Provincial Park | Canada

Welcome to Camping with Kim - my new camping channel and my fourth adventure!

Join me on my solo female spring car camping adventure during Canada’s early spring season with my new Honda CRV (I'm replacing my old CRV! More on that later..). This time I visit Six Mile Lake Provincial Park which is less than a two hour drive north of Toronto. Being so close, I always wanted visit this park.

This time, I camp at a site where my car can’t go. The lakefront site I reserve at Six Mile Lake Provincial Park is a walk-in only site, but luckily, it’s only a short hike from my car over a hill or two. This is the closest I've done to 'backpacking' haha!! After hulling everything to my camp site, I setup two tents to eat, sleep and kayak while enjoying the calming views of the water and a small island.
Lakefront sites are my favourite!!!

When I went, it was still getting pretty chilly at night so I still had to bundle up and use a heater. I read reviews that this park has a problem with highway noise and it is true. You can hear the traffic as I setup camp. However, as it gets later into the night, the traffic dies down and it remains fairly quiet into the early morning. Overall, the traffic noise didn’t bother me too much but it’s something definitely to be aware of if you expect a super quiet nature camping experience.

Given the closeness of the park to Toronto and the calm water lakes for kayaking, swimming and boats, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this park, even for a quick day trip.

I hope you enjoy this video and get some ideas for your next adventures. Or, drop a comment to give me some ideas for my next adventures!

Thanks for watching!
