The Gray Fox mayfly pattern is a great go-to fly east to west. This pattern originated in the Catskills by Preston Jennings I believe in the 1930's. Developed as an eastern fly pattern but very effective for western tan/brown mayflies as well. The fly is typically tied in sizes 12 - 16.
