The drafting of the RKUHAP (New Criminal Procedure Code) was hastily passed, lacked transparency, and ignored meaningful citizen participation, contradicting the principle of popular sovereignty. Mothers should know that this RKUHAP degrades the standards of citizens' human rights, including the rights of women and people with disabilities.

This is a law that strengthens police discretion and weakens oversight. Its articles open wide opportunities for abuse of authority:

• Anyone can be trapped! Undercover buy authority is expanded haphazardly to all types of crimes without judicial oversight, opening up opportunities for entrapment and fabricated cases against family members.
• Arrested without clarity! Arrests, detentions, and even searches can be carried out without a judge's permission during the investigation stage (before a crime has occurred). Our homes are now more vulnerable to searches and wiretapping based solely on the subjective judgment of officials.
