There are a few things you should never say after a car accident. This is a critical mistake so many people make every day, so here are 3 things you should know to never say:

1. Never apologize for anything
Maybe it's a Canadian trait, but we all know that most of us find ourselves apologizing for everything. But apologies are something you should never say after a car accident. An apology can be used against you in the future to place blame, so let the external providers (police, insurance companies) determine fault for the accident. If you apologize before it's determined it's your fault, it will be used to determine YOU'RE at fault even if you're not.

2. Don't speculate
Speculations are some things you should never say after a car accident. Don't say things like "I think I'm okay", "I don't think I've been injured", or "I'm not sure who was at fault for that". As stated above, these things can be used against you in the future to place blame or tell you that your injury wasn't accident-related, and so on.

3. Never be your own doctor
After a car accident, never try to come up with a diagnosis for your own injuries. Along with this, never assume you don't have injuries. Go see a doctor, or go get medical treatment from a specialist for your injuries. If you do end up being injured, or your injuries are worse than you anticipated, having this documentation will be very beneficial to you if you decide to pursue a personal injury claim.
