Case Background:
Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old resident of the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona, has been missing since the evening of January 31, 2026. The mother of journalist Savannah Guthrie, she is described by law enforcement as mentally sharp but with limited mobility and critical daily medication needs. Authorities were alerted when Nancy failed to show up for church the next day and could not be located at her home. Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responding to the residence found conditions inconsistent with a voluntary disappearance, and have indicated they believe she did not simply walk away from the home.

Investigators have treated the case as a criminal investigation, and have asked the public to review surveillance footage and come forward with tips. There have been reports of possible blood evidence within the home, and biological samples thought to be hers have been submitted for testing. No confirmed sightings, arrests, or publicly identified suspects have been announced. Savannah Guthrie has made emotional public appeals for help finding her mother, and the search remains ongoing as authorities continue to follow leads.
