This week my guest is Alan Donovan founder of Fathers Lives Matter.

Alan who went through a nasty divorce about 10 years ago details how shocked he was at how much he had to struggle to remain a dad when he and his wife split and how the family court treated him.

He shares how that experience caused him to start Fathers Lives Matter and why he has dedicated his life not just to raising awareness of the plight fathers face in family court but their children as well. We discuss ongoing attempts to make 50-50 Custody (Shared Parenting) the standard starting point in family court and why it is in the best interests of the children to do so.

We also discuss the response he and I get as we speak out on the issues of men and boys both positive and negative and share some of the personal stories of the men who've reached out for help.
