Thousands of LDF workers and prominent leaders gathered outside Kerala Raj Bhavan on November 15 protesting against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Sitaram Yechury, CPI(M) General Secretary inaugurated the protest. DMK MP Thiruchi Siva joined the protest extending solidarity. The rift between the Government of Kerala and governor has been going on for a while. The recent trigger was the governor appointing a Vice Chancellor at Kerala Technical University which was not accepted by the government. The protestors allege that the governor saffronise the higher education sector while the governor alleges government nepotism in the appointments.
