Music can provide immense enjoyment! From an early age, I discovered my affinity for various types of music, ranging from cheerful and uplifting melodies to more introspective and contemplative compositions. As a musician proficient in multiple instruments, my time naturally revolves around these artistic pursuits. The sitar, in particular, is a perfect instrument for invoking these diverse moods. I sincerely hope that you all derive pleasure from this musical piece. I personally added the background tracks using Reason 12 DAW, and the drum machine playing in the background is the classic Alesis HR 16, which produces a sound reminiscent of a Dhol.

This exclusive premiere is dedicated to the cherished memory of my father, Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish, whose birthday falls on December 14th. I invite you to join our family in celebrating and honoring the life of this saintly individual. Raga Bhupali held a special place in his heart, as he found joy in composing and singing in this raga due to its ability to evoke a sense of brightness and happiness. I learned this raga from him, and it became a favorite in our performances.

I am delighted to announce that I have resumed teaching at my music facility in Santa Cruz, California. Additionally, I offer online lessons through platforms such as Zoom and Skype. Furthermore, I hold the positions of music lecturer and ensemble director at the University of California in Santa Cruz, where I teach various courses on tabla, dholak, singing, and a unique fusion course called Raga Jazz, which explores the intersection of Eastern and Western musical traditions.
