The Rocks Under Wellington

Geologist Matt Ryan shows us the rocks under Wellington City that have been retrieved by geological drilling. The rock cores reveal that there have been lakes, rivers and even layers of volcanic ash from eruptions at Taupo volcano. We can also see huge environmental changes such as glacial and interglacial cycles recorded in the layers.
