The project aims to clean up 100 cities by 2050 with the Seabin, a floating trash bin that sits in marinas, ports, and other water bodies. It is installed upstream on floating or fixed structures and uses a solar-compatible water pump to create a water flow into the bin. The Seabin captures floating debris, such as plastics, oil, and microplastics, in a filter; cleaner water then passes through the unit and back into the open water.
