I'm going to show exactly how much money I earn from dividends.
And also tell you what are the best apps to do dividend investing and the different types of dividend investors.

1. Here is my dividend portfolio
And you usually have two types
People that invest in ETFs and index funds that provide low and dividend ( depending on the ETFs and the index your tracking)
And people that invest in individual stocks that pay a high dividend

Now I have my money spread across 5 different apps ( because have to test them out to let you guys know which one is best ) – average dividend return is around 2.83%
Acorns: Portfolio Value is $27,911.40 multiplied by 2.83%: that’s an annual dividend of $789.89 or $65 per month ( acorns is great if you want hands-off investing, they buy the shares for you, rebalance your portfolio, and make sure you're keeping your allocation goals correctly)

Robinhood: $13,113 ( but only around $13,044 counts ) multiplied by 2.83%: that’s an annual dividend of $369.14 or $30 per month ( for individual stock buyers and bad allocation)

Sofi: $21,000 at 3.69 dividends = $774 or $64 a month (it's an app I mostly use when I want to make big investments fast since I can just transfer money instantly )

Cash App: $3,064.08 but this is only at 1.83% = $56 per year or $4.67 per month ( you can buy some investments with a $1)

M1 finance: $100 bucks earning around 2.83% which is around $2.83 yearly or 23 cents per month ( theirs a learning curve but once you understand it could be one of the best ones for sure)
For a total of $1,990 per year or $165 per month ( 20 hours of work, when I was getting paid $8 an hour) – enough for my phone bill, internet bill, Netflix and haircut every month

TIP: If you want to be 100% hands-off, then acorns is the best app
If you don’t mind learning and building your own portfolio based on research. Then m1 finance is good ( I rebuilt my acorns portfolio inside of it)

2. Different ways to get dividends

ETFs/Mutual funds/Index fund investors: this is exactly what I do, I track 7 types of investments that contain 80% ETFs and 20% bonds. This gives me a decent dividend but also an 8% average annual growth and peace of mind with risk.

Stock picking: you can easily invest in individual companies and make between 3-6%. Example at&t 6.86%, or Phillip and Morris at 6.42%) ( Instead of making 1900 I could make $4,044 instead, but then if one of those companies fails, then I'm done)

Bond Investors: And I have 20% of my investments here also, although it might range from 1-3% in dividend, the income is usually giving every single month, and level of risk is usually as low as it can be with us government bonds. ( now as I get older I’ll put most of my money into bonds, because once you win the game theirs no need to take so more risk, and if you think that 2% is not enough if you have 10M in bonds that’s 200k a year in secured income )

3. Overall
If you ask me Tommy which investor should I be
I would focus on ETF stocks and bonds ( and create a goal for financial freedom and deadline) – example quick math, at 3% dividend and you want to make 30k per year you would need 1M ( it'll take you around 25 years if you invest 1000 per month at an 8% growth rate)
And if you want to have fun with picking stocks, then go ahead and do, once you invest your $1000 monthly. ( that way if you lose your money you’ll still be on track)
