Common Eligibility Test Recruitment 2021

National Recruitment Agency, NRA will be an autonomous society under the Societies Act. It will have representatives from SSC, RRB, IBPS

• NRA will conduct Tier-I examination-Common Eligibility Test, CET

• CET will be online examination

• Every district will have atleast one exam centre

TRANSPARENCY AND EASE IN RECRUITMENT PROCESS

1. Currently, Govt job seekers appear for multiple examinations conducted by multiple agencies

2. Candidates pay repetitive fees, travel great distances to recruitment centres, several times a year

3. NRA will remove these pain points with a common admission test for the Tier I exam for multiple govt jobs

4. NRA will reduce burden on candidates as also on respective recruitment agencies

GOOD GOVERNANCE THROUGH TRANSPARENCY

1. Reduces time taken in the selection process

2. Mitigates hardships for candidates from appearing in multiple exams of multiple agencies with similar eligibility conditions

3. CET to be conducted at over 1000 centres, every District will have at least one exam centre, including the 117 aspirational districts

4. Better access to rural, underprivileged candidates and women

NRA TO HELP STREAMLINE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

1. Initially, the NRA to conduct CET twice a year

2. Registration of applicants, generation of roll number/admit cards, display or marks, merit list, etc. will be done online

3. Bulk of the candidates will be screened out during CET

4. Medium of writing will be a multiple choice objective type question paper

5. Number of candidates appearing in the specialized exams will get reduced to nearly 5% of the total number of candidates

COMMON ELIGIBILITY TEST (CET) GIVES MORE CHOICE TO JOB SEEKERS

1. Separate CET to be conducted for three levels -

• Graduate

• Higher Secondary (12th)

• Matriculate (10th pass)

2. For non-technical posts. CET shall replace the Tier I exam held by SSC, Railway recruitment boards & Institute of Banking Personnel Selection

3. CET to shortlist candidates for Group B and C posts ¡n Central government

COMMON ELIGIBILITY TEST (CET) GIVES MORE CHOICE TO JOB SEEKERS
1. Standard Curriculum & degree of difficulty; to be conducted in multiple Indian languages

2. Based on CET score, final selection to be made through separate specialised Tier 2/Tier 3 examinations conducted by respective recruitment agency

3. CET score of a candidate will be valid for 3 years, best available score during 3 years will be the current score

4. No restriction on number of attempts by the candidate, subject to upper age limit prescribed

5. Relaxation ¡n upper age limit to be given to candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc
