I’m at The Picklr in Henderson, Las Vegas for the official Vulcan Pickleball paddle release party, and this one is making serious noise — the Nick Kyrgios Signature Pickleball Paddle.
Yes, that Nick Kyrgios.
One of the most explosive tennis players in the world is stepping into pickleball with a Gen 4 dual foam, 16mm elongated paddle, and in this video I break down:

One of the most interesting design details?
Vulcan actually included weight placement guides on the paddle face, making customization easier and more precise.
That tells me this wasn’t just a name-slap collaboration — there was real thought put into performance design.

On-Court Performance Review
Right off the bat, this paddle doesn’t feel like a typical Gen 4.
Instead of that hollow, ultra-stiff, overly explosive sensation some Gen 4 paddles have, this leans closer to a Gen 3-style ball feel — with strong dwell time and a surprisingly large sweet spot.

What Stood Out:
• Excellent dwell time for a Gen 4
• Large, forgiving sweet spot (minimal “dead” upper corners)
• Great control on drops & dinks
• Spin improved noticeably after some break-in time
• Power is there — but more controlled than chaotic

It does feel slightly stiff when first playing with it and I genuinely think this paddle needs 8–10 hours of break-in before reaching full potential.
As I kept playing, the spin and control started opening up more which should keep happening as the foam works in more.

Final Verdict (First Impressions)

Vulcan did a very good job here.
This is a Gen 4 paddle that doesn’t feel overly harsh or hollow. It offers strong ball feel, solid control, and controlled power — especially once broken in.
If Nick Kyrgios does enter the pro pickleball scene, this paddle absolutely has the build quality to compete.
I’ll continue testing it over the next couple of weeks and report back after extended play.
