In this video, Jeremy Cioara covers Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) as well as a number of other network types. These include public subnets, private subnets, their differences and advantages, and Jeremy includes a basic overview of hardware Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

Jeremy begins this video by explaining what a virtual private cloud is and how it can benefit you. When you set up an AWS account, your server defaults to basic configurations that are secure, but a VPC allows you to increase your privacy by a substantial margin. VPCs are structured so that you can still have public internet access, but you get to define the IP network you want to use. In a traditional VPN, servers are only accessible through established, secure connections. With VPC, you can still enjoy the benefits of a secured connection with the advantages of publicly accessible internet access.
