Interest rates for Post Office savings schemes in India for the quarter of July 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, have been announced by the government. These rates are subject to change every quarter.
Post Office Time Deposit (Fixed Deposit)
Rates are compounded quarterly but paid annually.
1-Year Time Deposit: 6.9% per annum
2-Year Time Deposit: 7.0% per annum
3-Year Time Deposit: 7.1% per annum
5-Year Time Deposit: 7.5% per annum
Other popular schemes
Public Provident Fund (PPF): 7.1% per annum, compounded annually. This rate is fixed for the entire FY 2025–26.
Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA): 8.2% per annum, compounded annually.
Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS): 8.2% per annum, payable quarterly.
National Savings Certificate (NSC): 7.7% per annum, compounded annually but payable at maturity.
Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP): 7.5% per annum. The investment doubles in 115 months.
Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (POMIS): 7.4% per annum, paid monthly.
Post Office Recurring Deposit (RD): 6.7% per annum, compounded quarterly.
Post Office Savings Account: 4.0% per annum, calculated annually.
