Vítězslava Kaprálová - Elegy

Описание к видео Vítězslava Kaprálová - Elegy

Czech composer and conductor Vítězslava Kaprálová (1915-1940) enjoyed a successful career before her untimely death, aged 25, in 1940. Written the year before she died, this elegy commemorates the life and work of writer Karel Čapek, and was Kaprálová’s final composition for violin and piano. The piece has a distinctive Eastern European sound and invokes a continuous feeling of agitation which rises and falls with each phrase.
