Optimising Manufacturing: Finite Element Analysis on SolidWorks

Описание к видео Optimising Manufacturing: Finite Element Analysis on SolidWorks

Finite element analysis (FEA), enables SME manufacturers to simulate and analyse the behaviour of their products under various conditions, allowing for more informed design decisions and optimisation of manufacturing processes.

Alongside computer-aided design (CAD), and topology optimization, finite element analysis represent a trio of advanced engineering technologies. CAD is a technology that facilitates the creation and modification of a design using software. FEA complements CAD by evaluating the robustness and performance of material components under various conditions by using mathematical models to predict how the components behave under structural, thermal, and other physical stresses.

Topology optimization is an algorithmic method used in conjunction with CAD and FEA to optimise material layout within a given design space, for a given set of loads, constraints, and boundary conditions. This technique iteratively removes material from the design space to improve performance and material efficiency.

CAD, FEA and topology optimization are the most essential skills required for a product engineer.

This webinar will emphasise sophisticated CAD modeling within SolidWorks, FEA techniques with the capability to perform simulations that model structural, thermal, and dynamic loads and topology optimization to optimize design.
