Dating back to the 17th century, Cas Abao was once a plantation spanning nearly 1,000 acres. Originally named Engelenberg, it played a role in Curaçao’s agricultural and salt-mining history. Despite damages during the 1795 slave rebellion and later English raids, the estate was restored around 1970, preserving its rich cultural heritage.
