Welcome to the Selangor Aviation Show 2024 and I think this is the biggest Malaysian Business Aviation Show I've ever attended so far! Malaysia's aviation industry is seeing rapid growth and development. Airports like Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and regional airports such as Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport or famously known as Subang Airport are undergoing expansions to accommodate more passengers and marking a significant milestone in enhancing regional connectivity within Malaysia and Southeast Asia. This effort supports Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional aviation hub.

Airlines such as Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia are also playing a significant role in this development. Both carriers are expanding their fleets and adding new routes, making travel more convenient for passengers. AirAsia, in particular, has become a leader in the low-cost airline sector across Asia. According to the news from the internet, AirAsia has expanded its operations in Malaysia to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) with two domestic destinations namely Kuching, Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah starting from Aug 30, 2024. Yes, it's very exciting news! Soon, there will be no need to travel to KLIA to catch a flight to Borneo Island.

In addition to commercial aviation, the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is modernizing its fleet, adding new fighter jets and enhancing its defense capabilities. This strengthens the country's overall aviation landscape. Furthermore, aviation shows like the Selangor Aviation Show continue to promote innovation and attract investment, positioning Malaysia as a key player in the regional aviation industry.
