We currently have generous State and Federal incentives in Illinois that give solar PV a payback period of 4-6 years. These include SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) and the Smart Inverter Rebate. Together these incentives pay for 50% of your commercial solar project in the first five years. We also have the 26% Federal ITC (Investment Tax Credit) and 100% Bonus Depreciation. Both SRECs and the ITC are stepping down over time so the payback will never be shorter in Illinois. Thanks to FEJA (Future Energy Jobs Act) of 2016 we are adding 2800 megawatts of solar and 1000 megawatts of wind to the state of Illinois. Contact me for more information.
