Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi is a state level institute which was established in 2008. The first batch had 60 students.
The main campus is situated in Okhla and is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also the member of AIU and is graded 'A' by NAAC. Government of Delhi has also funded this university and ensures its administrative and academic autonomy.

The nearest airport is Indra Gandhi International Airport (18.5 Km), whereas the nearest railway station is New Delhi Railway Station (15 Km). The International Ranking according to QS University Rankings in 2018 was 181-190. Whereas the national ranking according to NIRF in 2019 was 55 and in 2017 it was 60 according to Outlook India.

Three programs are provided by IIIT Delhi - Undergraduate (UG), Post-Graduate (PG) and Doctoral. For BTECH, JEE Mains result is considered. For MTECH GATE result is considered whereas for P.HD. PG result is considered.

Main focus of this college is on engineering. UG Courses provided are BTECH in CSE, ECE, CSAM, CSD and ITSS. PG Courses include MTech in Information Security, Data Engineering, Mobile Computing, VLSI & Embedded System, Communication & Signal Processing and Computational Biology. Doctoral courses include P.HD. in CSE, ECE, CB and Mathematics.

Placement rate for BTECH CSE is 98.96% and for BTECH ECE it is 94.59%.
Average package offered in BTECH CSE is 17.4 Lakh p.a. (avg. CTC) and in BTECH ECE is 11.30 Lakh p.a.
The highest international package offered is 40.72 Lakh p.a. and highest domestic package offered is 39.00 lakh p.a.
The median package for BTECH is 14.85 Lakh p.a. and for MTech is 14 Lakh p.a.
Percentage of students placed in BTECH CSE, CSAM and ECE is 100%, 100% and 91.89 % respectively. In case of MTECH CSE, ECE and CB is 96.58%, 72.86% and 61.54% respectively.
