Undertale - Asgore introduction and boss fight

Описание к видео Undertale - Asgore introduction and boss fight

[WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE NEUTRAL ROUTE OF UNDERTALE]

This video features the first appearence of king Asgore Dreemurr in his throne room during the last chapter of Undertale and the following boss fight against him. Note that Asgore faces the player in a full-fledged battle only in a Neutral run, and not in the other two, where the character is "dealt with" by other means without much player input.

Depending on how you played Undertale till this point Asgore can be a very rude awakening as he's the only enemy on the Neutral route who MUST be fought till "death", with no obscure or either obvious ways to spare him and avoid the boss fight. Still, the boss you faced in the previous chapters should prepare you enough for this encounter.

The colour of your soul for the entire duration of the fight will be red and Asgore can dish out the following attacks:

- Moving hands on the screen that will produce multiple flames (much like the attack Toriel has used on you much earlier, only there are more of them per turn this time around).

- Different showers of small flames. This attack can be either about many little flames comind down on you in a "8" fashion or much less flames but the two sides of the screen being occasionally covered in flames after a warning. Another variation is about Asgore covering the whole field with a growing spiral of bigger flames, which are arguably his harder attack to dodge properly. Finally, Asgore can create rapidly shrinking circles of fire homing on your position: finding their hollow spot quickly for each is the only way not to get hurt.

- Spear swings. Before doing these Asgore will blink one of his eye, one for each attack he's going to do, and such blink will be either blue or orange: this will clue you in about either needing to be still or move around between strikes respectively.

While Asgore can't be talked down or spared till he's near death there are two ways to make your fight against him easier:

- The easiest is about talking with him three times. This will lower both the damage of his attacks and his defense.

- If you managed to save a slice of Butterscotch pie up to this point in the game, eating it in front of Asgore will further lower his attack and defense.

At the end of the battle, you are given the option to either spare or outright kill Asgore. Sadly your decision here doesn't affect the events to come or the epilogue you get, since Flowey will just waltz in and kill him regardless
