Live Session 563 - Channel One Sound System - Notting Hill Carnival 2017

CASTRUM's Live Sessions is a collection of videos, which gives a real insight into artists and their performance from uncut, unedited footage.

Notting Hill Carnival, a celebration of Caribbean communities, their culture and traditions returned in 2017 to the streets of London over the August Bank Holiday weekend for its 51st year. It was an extra special event, due to the recent blaze at the Grenfell Tower Block, with many people shelling green to pay tribute.

Live Session 563 gets to see Channel One Sound System paying tribute to those from Grenfell Tower, those lost as well as the survivors by holding a minutes silence, along with the rest of Notting Hill Carnival. Mikey Dread then gives some words, and comes back in with the perfect tune outta Channel One Studio with Vivian Jones and Russ Disciple titled Fire, encapsulating the event with word, sound and power, before continuing one with more music.
