Making boxes with handmade hinges and clasp | Woodworking workshop

In this video I make two "companion" boxes - each an opposite of the other in contrasting wood. I realise early on that I only have cheap and nasty hardware so as part of the project set myself the task of designing, prototyping and making my own hinges and clasp.

I like to use a mix of power and hand tools and this film shows the stages I go through to get from timber to boxes - I hope you find it entertaining. I will do a more detailed video on how I made the hinges and clasp soon.
