The "mysterious gate" of the Qutub Minar, often referred to as a sealed or permanently closed door at the base of the tower, has sparked curiosity and myths over the years. This gate, located on the first floor of the Qutub Minar in Delhi, India, has been sealed off by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and is not accessible to the public.

The main reason for the closure is safety. In 1981, an incident occurred inside the Qutub Minar when a large number of schoolchildren were visiting. A power failure caused panic in the dark, narrow spiral staircase, leading to a totally unthought scene. Following this incident, the monument's interior, including this gate, was closed to visitors to prevent similar accidents.

Additionally, the structure is centuries old—built in the 12th century—so concerns about its stability and preservation have also contributed to the closure. Over time, myths and conspiracy theories have emerged, suggesting hidden chambers or secret treasures, but there’s no solid evidence supporting these claims.

Thus, the gate remains closed mainly for public safety and heritage conservation, not because of any proven mystery or supernatural reason. The monument itself remains open for viewing from the outside and continues to be a popular historical site.
