THE AND AND THE DOVE

On a hot afternoon, a thirsty ant went to a nearby stream to have a sip of water. He was careless and slipped into the stream. “Help! Help!,” shouted the ant as he could not swim. He was struggling for his life. A dove happened to fly by at that very moment. She quickly took a leaf and dropped it near the struggling ant. The ant climbed onto the leaf and was brought to safety. “I must thank the dove for saving my life,” he said to himself.

A few days later, the ant saw a hunter aiming his rifle on something on a branch of a big tree. He looked up to see what the hunter was aiming at. He was shocked to see that the hunter was aiming at the dove. “I must quickly do something,” he thought. So the ant climbed onto the leg of the hunter and with all his might, made one powerful bite! “Ouch, my leg!” yelled the hunter. The dove heard the yell and flew away to safety.
