First Phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections Underway in 24 Constituencies | News9

Polling has commenced in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir’s Assembly elections, with voting taking place across 24 constituencies spanning seven districts. With over 23 lakh eligible voters, 219 candidates, including 90 independents, are competing in this phase. Among key candidates are Iltija Mufti, daughter of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, and PDP leader Waheed Para. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters, particularly the youth, to participate in strengthening the democratic process.
