The original plan was to hike 2-miles down some logging road during the daytime, setup camp and then explore the area a bit. However, I was slow out the gate and arrived as the sun was going down. Still hopeful to make it to the clear-cut before dark, I quickly realized just how dense these woods were. And then, three quarters the way in, I experience what sounds like cracking limbs less than 100 feet away.
