RA20XX is set after the Soviet victory in RA1, where the Soviet Union conquers all of Europe
The conquest of Europe forces the USA and the Imperial Japan to intervene in the war, knowing that their fate is liked to the rise or the fall of the USSR, now stronger than ever. But the death of Stalin creates a lot of instability in the Soviet Union, as the Communist Party tears itself apart. The USSR slowly loses it's grip on Europe, while the US funds resistance all over the continent. After 10 years-ish of occupation, Europe is in open civil war against occupation forces and free itself
European Union is then formed, rebuild with the help of the Americans and Europeans refugees who fled the war
In RA 20XX present days, the USSR finally stabilize politically, but is losing influence over the rest of the communist nation, as China seems to take the new leader role.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a real-time strategy video game by Westwood Pacific, which was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2000 as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Red Alert 2 picks up at the conclusion of the Allied campaign of the first game. Its expansion is Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge.

Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 contains two playable factions, the Soviets and the Allies, which both previously appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
