Easy Turkish Breakfast — How Turkish People Eat Breakfast 🍳🇹🇷 | Ready in 20 min!
Let’s prepare a full Turkish breakfast together — fresh tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, olives, delicious Turkish cheeses, simit, and of course, Turkish tea. I also cook eggs and sucuk, each in their best way. Simple, quick, and full of real Turkish flavors you can easily enjoy at home!

1. Brewing Turkish Tea
Since Turkish tea is not grown in a subtropical climate, it tends to be smoother and lighter in taste. That’s why it’s brewed longer. Water is brought to a boil in the lower kettle, and the tea steeps in the upper pot with the steam. Let it brew for at least 15–20 minutes for the flavour to fully develop.

2. Tomatoes
2 tomatoes, sliced
3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
Mix and serve fresh with olive oil and a pinch of salt.

3. Cucumbers
2 small cucumbers, sliced
Salt, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Mix and serve fresh with olive oil and a pinch of salt.

4. Fresh Greens & Peppers
A mix of fresh parsley, dill, mint, and green peppers is always present. The herbs add freshness and aroma, while green peppers bring a mild heat and crunchy texture. No need to chop—just rinse and serve.

5. Cheese Plate (White Cheese, Bergama & Erzincan Tulum)
To make the easy Turkish breakfast cheese platter, we chose 3 popular types of cheese from among the many varieties of Turkish cheese:
• White cheese, also known as feta, is soft, mildly salty, and usually eaten young. It’s an essential part of every Turkish breakfast.
• Bergama Tulum is the “Parmesan of Turkey”—more aged than white cheese, with a creamy texture. Its flavour ranges from mild and slightly sweet to intense.
• Erzincan Tulum is sharper and saltier, with a distinct aged flavour.
To plate: use different cuts for each cheese—slice, dice, string, or crumble—to create a varied and appealing spread.

6. Black Olives
1/2 cup black olives
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 tablespoons olive oil
Mix and serve.

Green Olives
1/2 cup green olives
1 clove garlic
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
3 tablespoons olive oil
1–2 lemon slices
Crush the garlic and coriander seeds. Mix everything together. Squeeze a little lemon on top and store for up to a week. Gets more flavourful over time.

7. Simit & Poğaça

8. Eggs with Melting Cheese (Dil Peyniri)
5 eggs
100 g dil peyniri or mozzarella or any melting cheese that you love
2 pinches salt
2 tablespoons butter
• Melt the butter, add the cheese, save some for the top, crack the eggs before butter is browned. Cook until egg white and butter browned but yolks should be runny. Add the rest of the cheese and season with salt.

9. Sucuk

10. Honey & Kaymak (Clotted Cream)

A timeless duo. Simply spoon out thick clotted cream into a dish and drizzle with golden honey. Serve with bread or simit.
